A sad story with a happy ending.

We had three reasons for contacting Dee from POSITIVE RESPONSE.

1. A dog training school we attended with our first poodle sadly mixed dogs with anger issues with all other dogs. This school uses outdated training methods such as check chains and marching people around like soldiers. Our little poodle was killed in December 2007 in one of those classes in front of 30 people including children.

2. We the owners needed some desperate help as we were very fearful. We needed to gain confindence so that our new poodle Jorgi didnt become a nervous wreck.

3. ESPECIALLY FOR JORGI.
Dee encouraged us to have a private lesson to help us de-stress prior to joining a class. If we didnt like her methodology we had nothing to lose. She also encouraged us to sit in on a class so that we could see just what class groups were like. At 6.5 months JORGI had not yet been to school or anywhere near other dogs. We immediatley liked her and her training ideas so followed up with a four week course. We attended each week and every time we meet with Dee and her $100 BILLS called devon sausage, the reward based method all made sense. We say JORGI'S behaviour flourish and change with gentle training methods and our family and friends love him and the way positive training methods have worked for him.
JORGI now visits dog parks where everyone loves him and his owners aren't as nervous. Thankyou Dee for passing on your professional skills to us and JORGI. Your caring nature comes across naturally.

Puppy School has made me a better parent.

For many people a puppy is adopted into the family like a child. So for us was Ruby. However, she had more energy than a toddler, couldn't speak our language, had sharp teeth and hurt our human children. We had had puppy training with our previous dog and learnt the usual sit, stay, come commands etc. You might be thinking that this is what you need and what you get from every puppy school. Dee's training certainly achieved these outcomes but Dee also gave us amazing insights into dog behavior. We gained an understanding of how to read and interpret ruby's body language, behaviors that we had previously been completely unaware of and our interactions with them. In terms of training me, my wife has commented I should have attended Dee's puppy school years ago as this understanding has made me a better parent managing my children's behavior to.

Some time after puppy training, as Ruby and our children grew, we developed some bad habits that was making life with Ruby tough. The follow up support from Dee was exceptional. We had a home visit from Dee and in 1 hour had changed Ruby's behavior permanently. Dee ensured that our children were an integral part of solving the problem behavior. For the best outcomes for you and with a great trainer to dog ratio I would absolutely recommend positive response dog training.
