Private Training
Why Private Lessons?
Your lifestyle may not suit group classes or you are uncomfortable in a group situation
Your pet may not be suitable or initially suitable. (Private training can lead into group class training for socialisation and further education).
I
ssues such as these are not Suited to Group Classes:
- Fear based or other aggression
- Severe separation anxiety
- Biting
- Reactivity to other people or dogs
- Excessive Barking
- Extremely submissive dogs
- Dogs that are over hyperactive
What's the difference between in-home training and class group training?
- Dedicated one-on-one training for you and or your family
- Appointments structured to suit you
- Work on individual concerns beyond the scope of a group class ie. severe house soiling, separation anxiety, home barking, destructiveness around home
- Your pet is at ease immediately as it is in it's home environment. This helps keep your pet calm and helps them to learn quickly
- Speed up you and your dog's learning process before going into class groups
- Work on anxiety related issues you might have around other dogs
What's involved in a Private Lesson?
We come out to your home for a one and a half hour initial consultation. During that consultation we accertain:
- Your needs and concerns
- Take a detailed history

- Observe you and your family interacting with your dog
- Explain what canine leadership, behaviour and learning is all about
- Set up small behavioural training programs to work with immediately
- Discuss further consultations and work out your needs
Subsequent consultations:
- Implement ongoing training program
- Monitor progress and extend training to encompass needs of owners and dogs ie. work outside the home, desensitise to other dogs, noise, or join in class group if suitable
- Offer you ongoing support via phone or email while program is implemented
How long do I need lessons for?
Lessons required depend on the issues you have and how severe they are. We leave you work to do in between consultations and the amount you do greatly contributes to the success of your pet and minimizes the amount of time we need to spend with you.
What does this all cost?
Consultations and follow up visits are zoned by area and start at $220 for a 1.5 hour initial consultation. Follow up visits start at $120 for one hour or part thereof. For bookings and pricing for your area contact us on 0424 058 450 or via email.
Note: Private consultations are available on Sundays - a surcharge of $50 applies.
Please note that payments made by credit card attract and incur fees. This consists of a flat fee of $2.50 plus a 1.68% charge
