Does your adult dog take you for a walk, ignore you, won't come when called or destroys your furnishings or home? Take ACTION today! This course has been designed for older dogs who may have missed out on their education or for dogs with some reliability. Adult dogs receive the basics of good manners and we look at any behavioural issues that have set in. Owners who have attended this course breath a sigh of relief as their once over zelous pet starts to settle and behave, while they the owner learn how to get the most out of them. As with any course, the more training an owner puts into their pet, the better their dog becomes at understanding and complying with their owners wishes.
Course Information
- 5 Week (5.5 hour) Program
- Week 1 - DOG FREE - Behavioural Seminar (1.5 hours)
- Weeks 2-5 With Your Dogs (1 hour sessions)
By the end of this program YOU should be able to:
- Prevent and solve simple behavioral problems with positive reward based training
- Help dogs settle into new environments easily
- Achieve a good standard of basic training using all commands
- Motivate and reward your dog
- Understand what drives your dog to work
- Read and respond appropriately to your dogs' body language
- Build a trusting and responsible relationship with your pet
- Live harmoniously with your pet and desired lifestyle
- Set up situations for training success
- Successfully utilise environmental enrichment programs to build on confidence when home alone
- Successful mat/crate training.
- Increasing mental workouts and activities for rainy days or when your routine has changed to keep dogs calm, tired and quiet.
By the end of this program YOUR dog should:
- Respond to name and hold attention under normal class distraction
- Be able to perform the basic course commands taught in class
- Settle and be calmer in a training environment
- Walk on a loose lead past other class mates
- Navigate over and through various types of equipment with confidence
- Learn to perform and repeat desirable behaviour for attention, resources and access
